Columbus, Ohio – Safelite, the nation’s leading provider of vehicle glass repair, replacement and recalibration services, celebrates its 75th anniversary this month.
“From humble beginnings in 1947 to today, our commitment to our people, clients and customers remains constant,” said Renee Cacchillo, Safelite’s president and CEO. “Every day, I am honored to work alongside bright, driven and dedicated individuals passionate about helping our customers get back on the road and on with their day. They are the reason we reached this milestone.”
Over the past seven decades, Safelite grew from a single auto glass store in Wichita, Kansas, to a nationally recognized brand with a catchy jingle and locations in all 50 states. The company’s people-powered, customer-driven philosophy is just one of the reasons why associates take pride in supporting the communities where they live and work.
“Words cannot express our immense gratitude to those who have supported us along this journey,” Cacchillo added. “We respect and value our company’s roots and believe our founders would be proud of where our business is today and impressed with how far we’ve come.”
Safelite led many advancements since opening its doors, from bringing shatter-proof glass to the post-war auto boom to leading the way with its service offerings to supporting new technology common in today’s vehicles.
Cacchillo shared credit for the company’s success with Belron, the world’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement group who acquired Safelite in 2007. “Belron’s support over the past 15 years has been instrumental in shaping the Safelite of today. And now, with a strong past and an innovative mindset, we look forward to writing our next chapter.”
